Features of this project included:
Appointed on a Design and Construct contract to a highly accelerated programme, we engaged the designer whom had been working on the branding guidelines for HBF in the lead up to the tender. This enabled us to ensure that the design was in line with company branding from the offset. This, combined with their expertise in retail projects within shopping centres provided a solid grounding for our collaboration on this project. In addition to the Centre and surrounding retailers being operational throughout, the expansion project was underway. Access to our site was through the new Centre requiring us and all our subcontractors to be inducted under Multiplex’s safety systems.
Looking to reuse items from the existing store to maximise the value for their clients, these joinery pieces were removed out of hours so not to disrupt operations within the Centre. Works included custom made joinery items to tie in with existing pieces. The new store was fitted out to a warm shell and we were engaged to reconfigure the services to suit the new layout all the while being mindful of the PC date. The space was configured into four new areas, the main front of house for clients, a meeting room, staff break out room and store room that also incorporated the comms racks and switchboards.
With the ceilings very high, walls were lined with acoustic boards to make the store feel warmer. New cabinetry was created to hold their computer processing systems and on brand lighting and images were affixed to the walls. Existing loose furniture that was to be reused, was given a deep clean to ensure it didn’t look out of place in the new space.
Working closely with our design team, AMP’s design team and our subcontractors. A new full height, glazed shop front was installed creating an open, bright and welcoming entrance for HBF clients.
