CURTIN UNIVERSITY – YARNING CIRCLE

Extensive collaboration between all stakeholders, subcontractors and design consultants to achieve cost saving options to bring the project delivery cost in line with the expected budgets. A condensed programme of works with a view to meeting ceremonial dates for NAIDOC celebrations. Extensive redesign of paths in order to limit interaction with trees on site as well as the redesign of the central shade structure to ensure the vision of the landscape architect was delivered.

AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF CURTIN UNIVERSITY’S COMMITMENT TO INDIGENOUS RECONCILIATION, THE YARNING CIRCLE PROJECT WILL PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR CURTIN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS AND STAFF, AS WELL AS THE WIDER COMMUNITY, TO BE INVOLVED IN INTEGRATED LEARNING EXPERIENCES AND TEACHINGS WITH AN EMPHASIS ON AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINAL CULTURE.
