This project involved the staged 9C conversion of each of the six houses on the site, and the construction of a full commercial kitchen within one house, all while the facility was fully operational. Other works included the total demolition and construction of new kitchens, laundries and access bathrooms, as well as the replacement of all external doors. The six residents of each house remained in occupancy during the works. As a result, full consideration was given to hoardings, noisy works and service isolations, with limited hours available for each of these activities to minimise the disruption to the residents. Strong relationships were formed with the facility administration staff and nursing staff through daily communication and planning. In addition, formal weekly meetings were held, where programme and OHS requirements were of a high priority.
